Hypocrisy – One of the most egregious of all faults a politician, or anybody for that matter, might have. We saw what the high and mighty Governor of New York did after years of aggressively prosecuting those who did the same thing. Now, we at the General Assembly of Georgia have one of our own, a man who lists his profession as a pastor, supposedly a “Man of God” pleading guilty to money laundering.

Yes, it is true, Representative Ron Sailor has pled guilty to money laundering and is resigning his seat from District 93. Not only was he the Representative who has missed 91% of his votes on the floor this year, he is now facing up to 20 years in jail and a fine of $250,000 for laundering $75,000 in one sting and attempting to launder another $300,000 when finally arrested by the FBI.

It seems like those who attempt to preach to us that they are so righteous are so often those whose feet are really made of clay. We must all remember that we are here to do the will of the people, for the good of the citizens of Georgia, and leave our pride and false righteousness behind.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the 21st District and I will continue to point out our weaknesses and failures as well as our successes for your comments. Sometimes we all get carried away with ourselves and we need to remember that we are here at the will of the people, to serve the people.
